How We Got Started
Wife's hobby creating birthday cards for co-workers grew into a business need to recognize employees everywhere Birdie has perched. Originally a reseller for small business SaaS Intranets under OfficeXchange, LLC and currently perform technical writing services under this company brand as well.

When one employer decided they liked the product, they contracted for Birdie to make cards for all occasions with their business brand on the cards. From there, we got another business through word of mouth; which today is still our best marketing stream.
Handmade greeting cards, customized to what the customer envisions, is best marketed by word of mouth in our 8 years of experience. Digital marketing fails to convey the look, touch and emotional transfer when someone picks up one of our cards in their hands.

Cards by Birdie has a promo landing page on FB. Over a steady year period of time we purchased ad space. When one didn't work, adjusted the ad, including a free shipping offer. We even tried the let us build one card of your choice for you. Not one response to the free card or free shipping...

We even tried the let us build one card of your choice for you. Not one response to the free card or free shipping offer...just more likes and follows. No sales generated from an ad either. Even conducted a 4 choice survey asking when customers thought they might purchase customized greeting cards from Birdie (this week, in 2 weeks, next month and some day soon). The number one response was "some day soon." Very interesting to learn that people will give you the least amount of info possible and give you the answer you least want to know.
Managed risk brings about desired rewards. D e velop the plan, work the plan, earn from the plan. Hard work always pays off when you take the time to plan and stick with it to its planned conclusion.
